Hunt — Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2, 2025. This Privacy Policy explains how Hunt ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, discloses and protects information when you use our mobile application available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

Account: email address, hashed password, display name.
Authentication & security: password reset tokens, minimal metadata.
Location data: to show your position on event map and enable claiming items.
Event participation: registration status, timestamps, claimed items.
Device data: type, OS version, crash logs, optional analytics.
Reward redemption: reward history.

2. How We Use Your Data

To provide App features: registration, login, maps, rewards.
To send emails: password resets, confirmations, winner notifications.
To prevent fraud and enforce event rules.
To process rewards (coupon codes or physical items).

3. Location Use

We request location permission to display your current position, detect proximity to items, and enforce entry windows. Location is used only while the App is active unless you enable background location. You can revoke permission at any time.

4. Rewards & Sponsors

Rewards may be digital coupon codes or physical items. Physical rewards may require limited sharing of your name and contact info with a sponsor strictly to fulfill the reward.

5. Emails & Notifications

We use your email for important account and event updates. Promotional messages are optional.

6. Third Parties

We may use third-party services for maps, email, analytics, and reward fulfillment. We share the minimum data necessary and expect partners to protect your information.

7. Data Retention

We retain data as long as needed to operate the App and comply with legal obligations. You can request deletion at any time.

8. Your Rights

Request access, correction, or deletion of your data.
Opt-out of marketing emails.

9. Security

We use encryption in transit, hashed password storage, and strict access controls. While no system is 100% secure, we will notify you of any breach as required by law.

10. Children

The App is not for children under 13. If you believe a child account exists, contact us for deletion.

Data may be processed internationally with contractual safeguards as required by law.

We may update this policy and post a new effective date when significant changes occur.
